Liechtenstein Development Service (LED) is a private foundation of the Government and the civil society of Liechtenstein. It provides official development aid on behalf of Liechtenstein's government. LED was founded in 1965. In Moldova LED started its activity in September 2007 with primary focus on the education sector.

LED has a bottom-up approach and relies on the insights of its implementing partners and stakeholders. LED discusses the need and the appropriateness of the interventions with representatives of direct as well as final beneficiaries.

In Moldova LED is active mainly in rural areas in the sector of education (in general and vocational education in particular).

Other information

Besides funding and monitoring projects, LED is also implementing projects.

LED seeks good coordination of its activities with the governmental structures, with actors of the civil society and with other donors and project implementers in Moldova.  LED feels a twofold accountability for using its resources efficiently and effectively - towards the people in Moldova and towards the people in Liechtenstein.
